A Different Approach to Weight Loss

Support from a Registered Dietitian

Are you struggling to lose weight? Have you gone through different diets, just to gain back the weight soon after?

Are looking for a new approach that is more balanced, enjoyable, and long-lasting?

Getting support from a dietitian can help you improve health and change body composition, without extreme dieting.

Not only will the dietitian give you science-based health advice to help improve your health and metabolism, but they will also support you in improving your relationship with food, health, and your body. By getting support to make gradual changes that fit your lifestyle, you will feel more confident in sticking with the healthy habits in the long-run.

This non-diet approach to weight loss and sustainable weight management can make healthy living easier and more enjoyable, and is much more effective in the long-run than the diets that are too extreme to keep up with.

Why dieting doesn't work in the long-run:

There are many advertised diets out there that claim to help people lose weight, and many of these diets are not as great as they sound.

While extreme diets might result in weight loss, it is often nearly impossible to maintain these types of diets in the long-run. Since they aren’t enjoyable or satisfying, it is no wonder why people can't keep up with it in the long-run.

Extreme dieting doesn't help you build a healthy relationship with food, and can actually do the opposite. Instead of helping you develop habits and skills that you can keep-up with, it leaves you with an unhealthy mindset of all-or-nothing thinking, gives you stronger food cravings, and exhaustion and burnout from the extreme approach.

Extreme diets also often lack nutrients or other important compounds, which can be harmful for your metabolism and your long-term health.

Disclaimer:

People come in different shapes and sizes, and we don't have to all look the same. There are a lot more factors that affect weight than just health behaviours, including our genetics! Changing health behaviours can lead to weight loss, but weight doesn’t have to be the goal. Being fixated on weight as the only goal can actually do more harm than good, since it can affect one's sense of self worth, and cause people to neglect important areas of life. Self esteem isn’t something that just gets better after losing weight. It is something that needs to be worked on itself.
